The ranch buildings in front of him were in a dilapidated state and stood out like a sore thumb in the beautiful but remote countryside in which it was located. He had driven for almost three days to reach the place. It was not the ranch though that depressed him it was the thought of meeting the rancher and his wife that made him feel heavy hearted.
